I dabble in doodling.  I most definitely have been known to diddle while dabbling.  Sometimes I even squat while I diddly dabble.
I must say, I often dabble in diddly-squat. This post was edited by Merlin at February 8, 2020 11:52 AM MST

You squat when you diddle? That would be fun to watch.

Diddly-squat is a term for doing nothing, or not worth anything (diddly), and even to describe just nothing at all. During the 1930's, this phrase was coined due to an observation of someone squatting while doodling in the sand.Feb 11, 2016.

I found the origin of diddly-squat as it shows how doodling and diddly-squat go hand in hand.  I thought it was interesting and rather humorous.
Hence, diddling in doodles you are creating in the sand may require one to squat.
It's funny how the origin of the phrase probably meant something to the person doodling while squatting in the sand.
Now, it means diddly-squat.   This, of course, doesn't mean your doodles don't mean anything.  I'm sure they must to the person doodling them.
    :) :)
