Ever hear of an internet site called Amirite? A RosieG joined it. Not this RosieG. Could there be two of us? Geez. How?

.I was informed of this by an Answermug friend who has friends on that site. I have never heard of it . That "Rosie G" posted political questions. So do I. Why pretend to be me? My friend said nothing bad was posted. The account was investigated and it turned out that it wasn't me. I could have told them that. So why would someone use my name? What would be the endgame?

Wow! Some folks are so dam* cruel SA. On Answerbag a dear friend (who has sadly passed away) lost his mom.  Some Answerbag bit** said she was glad his mom had died and she wished he would die too or something like that. I couldn't  believe. Neither could he.  But there are  definitely cruel nutjobs out there just waiting to harm folks they are clearly jealous of. If they were not jealous and spiteful why would they do that? They wouldn't. There is a loose screw and something missing emotionally or they could never act like that. I've never been in an ICU situation. I'm glad you're here SA.

Probably someone Imping your persona either to create the appearance of traffic or to stir the pot in hopes that former users here will return to complaints, thus creating traffic. Evidently it's a common practice. Just my opinion.

Rosie, I am so happy that we caught what they were doing, and will keep an eye out to make sure it doesn't happen again to you or any other people on here.

They can't confront you on here because they have all been banned for causing trouble.

We have no idea why you were the target, but who can figure out why crazy people do the things they do?

    Have a wonderful Friday Rosie.

Really? Huh. So the intention was not to harm me personally but simply to increase traffic? Hmmm. Thank you for adding  another dimension to it FNR. I did not know people did that . Happy Saturday! :)

What surprised me a lot is that many Answermuggers have experienced the same exact thing. I can figure out why I'm a target. Some folks simply don't like my politics and don't like me because of it so every time they show up on one of my question threads it is simply to insult/attack. I usually ignore them but I can see any one of them  could be impersonating me to find additional ways to vent their hate. But other folks who are liked so much? I mean having it happen to them too? Really that is mind-boggling. I guess some folks only get off on causing trouble and trying to harm people. They have nothing else going for them so that is how they spend their time and their internet lives. Sad that, isn't it? Thank you for your reply Lulu's Mom! You are definitely one of the good ones! ((hugs))

We can't figure out why they do the crazy things they do.

Whoever made that clone of you, may have had a run in with you when they were on here and couldn't get over it.

You are an ass kicker and they don't like that unless they are doing the kicking.

But don't worry we have your back, and anyone else who falls victim to them.

    Have a great weekend Rosie.

I can't guarantee that, but I do know that the user base on that site dwindled from, what I've been told were thousands, down to what appear--by my count--to be less than 30 regulars. I also know for a fact that now inactive users who never closed their accounts have had people log in to their accounts and make comments as if it were them.

I also know for a fact that fictitious accounts are created then used to post multiple questions a day (even rivaling the amount of questions you post here daily) to supplement traffic on days when actual users are mostly inactive.

Add to that the fact that quite a few regulars seem to have a real problem with those of us who left to join this site. Given how prolific a poster you are here, wouldn't surprise me if your persona was chosen for that very reason. They greatly desire posters who contribute as much content as you do and given you don't frequent the site, you'd be a good candidate since you'd likely never find out unless someone told you about it.

This is just a possible explanation based on my experience / observations though. I'm not saying you shouldn't take it seriously. Any time someone starts imp'ing you, that poses a significant threat. imo Just saying, I can see why someone may have chosen you specifically. Many there also very much like the idea of native users here leaving to join that site. Still shady nevertheless.
