You don't have the patience to read all the instructions to something. True?

Uuugh, and I always make the same mistake.  I will rush through the instructions, miss something, and then double my time trying to figure out where I went wrong.

LMBO!!  It's easier for me to learn 'hands on' OR watch someone do whatever it is that needs to be done.  Besides ...  the print is TOO small !

There a saying ... When in doubt RTFM ... Read the effing manual ... That is it's a last resort only lol

I am the ABSOLUTE WORST offender of this.  I hate reading that stuff.  I won't do it as a rule and stumble around for years until I finally catch on some how.

I am lucky that the hubby likes to put things together.  Before him, I was a hot mess with instructions, even though I am pretty handy in general.

True.  I usually play with it until I figure it out.

Hubby loves puttng things togetjer, but usually will miss just one step. Then goes back and starts over...LOL

I read bits and pieces and put it together. Usually the pictures only. But I ain't building a computer.

Instruction manuals seem to have gotten more basic as equipment gets more complexed. Most products these days seem to have very little in the manual, and often refer you to their website for further information.

For the most part, I know going in whether or not I will be needing the manual for whatever it is I have just purchased.

It used to drive my older brother crazy when I would buy a new video game and open up the booklet first before just loading and playing the game.  But I knew there was useful ancillary information about backstory or gameplay that would make the game that much more enjoyable the first time around.  Of course, the rule is whoever bought the game gets the first run, so he would have to wait for me to read through the material first, then wait again for me to play a little before he got his turn. 

I love the ones that have large drawings that are well labeled and can just show you where the pieces go in.  It is nice to have the Internet as a back-up.  I seem to follow directions better there than on paper.

I think there are a lot of things that we can have some common sense about.  I tend to get a little overconfident with that on some things though and end up needing the dumb manual after all.
