My earliness memory of running was motivated by fear---(Sorry, that's probably not exactly what you were asking about.)

That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run.

  • I'm not too keen on hanging around someone shouting "FREEZE". :P

  • And you totally don’t need to. Unless they say “Simon says”.

Perhaps, maybe even a light jog. But no running .

  • Rough on the knees anyway. I doubt I would even be able to come close to the speed and distance I used to.

No, but I can remember why I stopped. Boring.

You stopped because you were bored running or because you stopped was a boring reason?
A person who can make things blow up "just because it's fun," is not someone who I see being bored with anything at anytime.

Running was boring. That last time I ran was about 25 yards to rescue a woman falling from a bike.

And a hero at that!  Not that I'm surprised.  Totally Awesome! :) :)
Just another small question.  I'm trying to get a visual.  Was the bike falling on her or was she falling off the bike?

She had cancer and was quit weak. When she tried to get off, she couldn't hold the bike up. I ran over to her and grabbed her and the bike and helped get her balance. She died two years ago. Nice woman.

She was very lucky you were there to help.  May she rest in peace.  Or... maybe she is happily riding bikes with a friend on another plane.  Wherever she may be, I hope she is happy and glad you were there to help her when needed.

  • I used to run regularly as well and yea it’s hard to maintain. But refreshing when time allows to actually go for a run somewhere that has some scenery.

Because it was better than just standing there waiting for something to happen.
Why not make something happen and see things and meet people along the way???

  • Not a bad reason at all.
