Ya it was because I heard the police helicopter coming so I had to gather up my water buckets and run to the tree line before they spotted me and my bush plants. Cheers!

More like the Ginger Bread Man story - I'll run and run as fast as I can and they won't catch me because I'm the Ginger Bread Man. Cheers!

Yes: we wanted to be in top physical shape for each other.

Hi Kittigate~ :)!  Very impressive.  I run but I know I couldn't run a 26 mile marathon.  Maybe a 3 mile marathon.  I'm not sure three miles classifies but I could run that distance in a competition.
    Good for YOU!!

Do you know what avid runners call a 3-miler?  A nap.

I'm sure you could do a 3-miler, running backwards, barefoot!

Thanks for the great visual of me.  And you know, it is all correct, except for the watch.  I never where a watch.  Time is irrelevant.  It is the feeling of running that relaxes me.  I DO run barefoot on the beach, when I have the chance.  I never wear shoes on the beach.  It has been such a long time since I've been able to run there.  I just work there these days.  :(.  I could make the time but I would rather spend my time with Don.
It's a tough coin toss.  The ocean.  The Don.

:(.  I so wish I could make the time to do both.  Don quit going to the beach after his knee/ACL blew out from kite surfing.
It's sad.  I love the beach for what it is and all the creatures and ocean and the feeling it brings.  Don likes it more the human recreation.  We both are beach people but for very different reasons.
His is what the ocean can do for him and the cool things it brings to him.  He also enjoys the geology of the bottom.  He would have been a great ocean bottom-mapping person.  Geology would have been a great "ology" for him.  His dad frowned on him going into science.  So, he didn't.   He is a good solider.  It's too bad his "dads" didn't encourage his interest.  Since then, his only connection with it is to ride the waves.
Mine is WoW!  Check this awesomeness out!!!  I LOVE THAT!!!
Still, we both love it for all the reasons.  I never put a man made object in the ocean.  Well, clothes.  But I feel part of it. This post was edited by Merlin at March 8, 2020 4:20 PM MDT

I didn't run the marathon because I was working a lot of midnight shifts at the time and wasn't very good at sleeping during the day.

That would tend to put a damper on training; however, I bet you would win ANY race if it started at 11 pm.
Big winks and smiles!!  It is still impressive and a goal, I know, would take me at least a year to train for and complete.   I wouldn't do it as a competition with others.  I would do it as a goal set for myself.  I am comfortable with my groove and am reluctant to step out. I have enough goals I am working on that are more feasible of reaching.  You have much more endurance.  I search for the easy and pliable on my body these days.
