Even though I enjoyed my job, I was glad to leave it when I retired. I had been there 37 years and I had wanted to have more time for other pursuits.

Unfortunately, teaching. The state not only told me what I would teach, but how to teach it. They also added excessive paperwork and reporting. I taught for 20 years in three different schools. This post was edited by Element 99 at March 5, 2020 9:19 AM MST

Isn’t “paperwork” just one word, not two?

I wonder ------------ Did 'the powers that be  want you to teach more 'liberal' or more 'conservative?'

Liberal. I knew what they need to know in life. Those who wrote the curricula were college professors who had never been a a classroom filled with underprivileged children.

For 5 months, I was 'unemployed' and sought out work in a factory. It was a 'Kelley Services' job.
