Probably close to a day while camping in the mountains.  Wow, memories of fresh air and pine trees with little critters scampering about. Now just making it to my car is difficult.

The longest hike I've done was 10 miles.  I don't know how long it took.  We made a day of it though.  We had a car at the other end of the trail.

Continuously means no sitting or resting.  I'd say around 6 hours.  From the freeway, around the valley, up to the top of the mountain and then back down to the car.  I was in search of a shoe insert my dad left somewhere on the mountain on his hile the day before.

You're are a nice son or daughter.  I would escort him to the podiatrist to get a new set made.  ;)

So are the custom-made ones you get from a podiatrist.  My point is I wouldn't go looking for it for six hours.  If he could hike he could hunt for his orthotic....that's how I would feel about that.

Oh, he did help hunt for it.  However, it was a big mountain and he couldn't remember where he took his shoe off, so we had a lot of area to cover.

I entered a regular marathon running race. It was 95 F and I stopped running and walked the course. It took about 5 hours. (1980)
