Have you had to cancel or postpone any travel plans due to the stupid Corona?

I was supposed to leave April 9th for Cuba, but that’s not happening now, meh. I’m not losing any money because any flights booked for travel between now and April 30th  are being given credit to use at a later date, but I still hate it.

  • Hope you can plan that trip again soon.  We Americans aren't allowed to visit there, as far as I know.
We don't have any vacation planned currently, just waiting to see what happens.
    This whole thing sucks!

I’m more pissed Cos it was a group of 31 of us friends all going together,  so we had to plan it  almost 9 months in advance. The logistics of us all being able to coordinate the same time off again, and sync up our schedules is highly unlikely, meh. We didn’t have to cancel at this time, but we all would have had to go into 2 weeks of self quarantine once we came back, that was just announced as a stipulation of any Canadians traveling internationally. Also the government has already asked for the public not to travel internationally unless it’s essential travel, so I’m sure that will move from a recommendation to a hard rule soon. So we all decided just to pull the plug on it now.

Anyway that was a long ramble lol. But yeah, I’ll have all that credit to take a kick-azz trip at some point so it’s not the end of the world ... I guess ;)

Lol, some are friends, some are friends of friends.  30  acquaintances would be a more accurate description.

The coincidence is that my wife, her brother and I traveled on vacation to Asia from the second week of February to the first week of March this year to visit with my mother-in-law and the rest of the extended family. We were not in China, but it was the time period when the virus was just starting to get a whole lot of news coverage worldwide. It appears we traveled just at the right time, both our departure and our return, to avoid the mass cancellations that are now taking place.

There are a whole lot of passengers traveling throughout Asian countries all the time, and with China being so huge and having such a large population, it’s not only a prime destination, it’s also a prime origin of international travel.

That really stinks, Jaimie. I don't blame you for being upset.

I know it’s not really a big deal compared to everything else going on, but I was disappointed this morning lol.

Free healthcare where I live too. No one wanted to get stuck there if borders closed while there nor just sign up for a two week quarantine after the trip.

My uni, Southern Cross, had to close last Wednesday.
We had our tutorials online and everything went just fine.
