Haha same, IT came and set me up completely so I have access to my work drive  to work remotely from home yesterday. I haven’t stopped with the emails and phone calls since.

They did that for me, too, but I am only working the same days from home that I usually work.  They haven't set me up with the phone, but I don't get that many calls at work so that's not an issue.  I may surreptitiously check emails so they don't overwhelm me on Tuesday, but that's it.

One of the things IT did on my laptop was set up a connect to my phone extension at work. I can receive and make calls from my lap top now.  I plan on only working Monday to Friday next week from home,  but we all abruptly left midday Wednesday so I’m just playing catch up on those days this weekend. I know I’m lucky though to have a job I can do from home and still collect a regular pay.  I feel bad for all the people that have to go on unemployment insurance because they can’t go into work.

The attorneys have the ability to do phone work from home, but not the secretaries.  I'm OK with that because if I had that ability, people would not hesitate to call whenever they felt like it - not giving though to the fact that it might be after 5 PM or a day when I don't usually work.  I'm happy to have a job, too, but fortunately, I'm in a position where if they let me go, I would just retire completely instead of working three days.

Well, since my job is shut down, I will find things to do. I will prepare my seed starting trays so I can have lots of tomatoes and salad stuff. That's exciting.

I got some flower seeds in the mail but they say not to plant them until after April 10.  I don't have starter kits at home or soil, so it will have to wait.

It's not too early? I guess I should order some seeds.

This is a good time to start certain seeds indoors in seed-starting trays. Then about in the middle part of May, you have little plants ready to set in the garden. If you plant some types of seeds directly in the soil in May, they don't always have time (in Ohio) to mature and produce.

It is too early for New York, so I'll wait until I can go outside and plant them.  I'm not going out just to buy soil and starter kits.  I didn't order them - some charity to which I donate sent them as a thank you.

When a neighbor and I tried to grow tomatoes on the side of our building, some people took them while they were still green and we never had one tomato for ourselves.  My neighbor was so incensed he pulled the plant out and threw them away.

I think I will have to go out foraging for food this weekend. That will be my first in-person contact since Tuesday, not counting nodding to a dog-walker in the park from a safe distance.

Good luck.  Maybe if you go early, it won't be so bad.  Last week, I went midday and I couldn't even find a parking spot in the Target lot or a shopping cart at Walmart.  I went to those two stores yesterday around 11 AM and it was very bearable.

The parking lots I drive by seem less crowded than normal. Most of the stores have a special early hour for seniors and others who are more vulnerable. Technically, I fit that crowd, but in my head, I'm not that old.

I know what you mean.  Anyone else considers 74 elderly, but I don't feel that way.  They have early shopping for seniors here, too - 6 AM to 7:30 AM in most places, but I'll be damned if I'm going to get up that early to food shop.

It's still dark here at 6AM - don't they know that old people don't drive in the dark?

LOL ... I can't recall when I was last awake at 6 AM, but that may be true here in NY, too.
