I believe in myself and that most people are good. Even though there’s a lot of D*ckheads out there, I still believe most people are good. I also believe in cheese.

Atheism is simply the lack of belief in any gods. That is all. This position still allows for belief in things that have nothing to do with divine, supernatural beings.

It should be noted that all of the three major monotheisms dismiss every one of the other 1,000 or so gods mankind has observed throughout history; atheists just go one god further - in the same way and for the same reasons.

I believe in spontaneous healing that can happen due to placebo effect. I am not sure what the force is though that causes the change to enable a healing. I had an abscess in my mouth completely heal overnight by placebo effect;  mind over matter I guess.

I know of a person who became a bible thumping Christian after experiencing a significant spontaneous healing and believed it was a Divine Intervention but was probably due to a placebo effect. I don't know if she ever had any more Divine interventions again.  This post was edited by Kittigate at March 22, 2020 12:35 PM MDT

I have done that before. It doesn't work as well as it used to, though.

You might have to try find a different kind of inspiration to make a placebo healing effective. I did 'Japanese forest bathing' to be very effective for relieving stress. Find a quiet place among dense trees then just sit and relax for at least half hour.

Might help inspire physical healing too.
