Is it true that there is a notable increase of people heading to the casinos when there is a recession happening?

  In the current situation, it’s 100% untrue in the area where I live because all of the casinos have been shuttered for about two and a half weeks now.

  In other/previous recession-related times, it probably was true. In desperate times, some people either throw all caution to the wind or they embrace an ideal that they’ll hit it big or a combination of the two.
