Yes, but I'd never be able to put it into words......................maybe. Something about catching and distributing the energy of the bullet over a wider area. It seems to work with fabric that's finely threaded. The composition of this fabric is unknown to me without googling. As for metal, something that insanely dense.

Kevlar was created by two guys named Kevin and Larry. It is something like 5 times as strong as steel. If you get shot with a Kevlar vest, it tends to hurt like hell and leaves a bruise.
