Do wet masks filter as well as dry ones?

The water park by my house is opening on Friday and they say they'll have masks available to purchase. Is there even any benefit to wearing a mask in that environment?

Stay away from places like that....don't trust what any money making concern says....you only get one life so always let common sense prevail..
We've all had our warnings....we must wait for a vaccine to come before we venture out as we did before....

Yes, for the old people who are just watching the kids/grandkids.
I think a wet mask would be a suffication risk.

I’m just imagining how ridiculous it would be/would look to wear surgical masks and bathing suits at a pool. What a paradox. How far things have come.

    Tan lines, anyone?

    Dry ones aren't brilliant either.

It would be very difficult to breathe through a wet mask. Try it.

Umm... I'm going to try not to take it personally that you just said, "This will suffocate you. You should do it." lol

You're walking ahead of time! Most people don't know which type of mask filters and which does not!

They all filter something. Paper and cloth ones will not filter viruses.

That's the disease. It's the corona virus that causes it.

Not really. These are confusing times and I am prone to mistakes. (Hey Pat...get me another beer.)

Regular surgical masks are waterproof, as long as you don't wear them inside-out.

Don't bother with a homemade/fabric mask around water.

Can you wear them upside down?

You're not supposed to wear them upside down, but many do because they don't realize. There's a strip along the top part that you can push down so it rests against your nose to give a better fit.
