    Actually in 2009-2010, we had the Swine Flu pandemic.

    Yep. Believed to have killed over 500,000 people.   It is still around but now it is just lumped in with the regular flu stats each year.

    It was more active in Asian countries and effected young people more.  We are at almost 300,000 in just 6 months....

    They really did not make that one as big a deal.  Regular flu kills 500,000 every year.
