They wanted DIFFERENT so they chose Trump, the LEAST qualified/competent/knowledgable person to run. Makes sense, right?

Trump may not be the anti-Christ as some have  suggested but he certainly is the best anti-President candidate who ever ran for the office. Why not select a sleazy businessman? What could it hurt?

    In the immortal words of Yoda: "makes sense it does!"  Moreover, your penultimate sentence indicates that you know the reason. Trump is simply not "one of them." His supporters like him because Donald Trump is THE "anti-president."  That's the whole point.
