Recent theories about dark matter and energy and their influence on the life of the universe; equal forces are simultaneously pushing expansion and contraction.
I used to think technology (the Internet in particular) would be nothing short of beneficial to humanity. I have now come to realize that some of the results are more negative than positive, i.e., people are less civil when they don't have to look each other in the eye; the advent of "fake news" and the seeming inability to differentiate between what's real and what isn't; the ability to hack into accounts and steal personal information that can be used later to disadvantage others. Those are just the ones off the top of my head. Of course, there are positives as well.
