What do you do if your friends tell you that you are outrageous and why can't you be normal?

I say, "I am normal". (For me, that is normal.) They couldn't believe my avatar name was Marguerite. Yes, I used to be Marguerite Dubois. "Whaaaat? they said. "Yes," I said, "then I changed it to Marguerite the Beloved. 

"Why can't you be normal?"

"That's normal for me. I wouldn't have it any other way."

Besides, I'm a writer! Among other things. 

Still, I love my friends.
