I’ve never been a fan of either the band or any of their music, so there is not just one particular song of theirs that I dislike, it’s the whole slew.

Almost every successful band that kicked off from the mid sixties through to the early seventies acknowledged their debt to the Fabs, including the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd etc. The most influential artists in music history, period.
Yes, they did some stuff that was either very ornery or just plain awful, particularly when Lennon was tripping. Every band has a few album tracks that aren't hits, even my fave band, Icehouse, did some forgettable material. This post was edited by my2cents at December 31, 2022 7:28 AM MST

Does mean everyone has to like them because some other artists like them....

Not "like" them, but had their style and material inspired by them. They invented entire genres, and although they didn't "invent" heavy metal (The Kinks did that), they absolutely brought it into the mainstream with Revolution 1 and Helter Skelter - so Metallica was influenced by them too. Still does not mean everyone/anyone has to like them....personally I am not a fan.  They are over-rated.

You’re confusing my opinion with being your opinion. There is no requirement that every person like the band, nor is there a requirement that every person should have the same opinion, nor that every person should agree with every other person. You have the right to like the band regardless of what I think of it, and my opinion doesn’t detract in any way your enjoyment of the band. If you need the history of other bands’ acquiesce in order to decide which bands you should like, that’s entirely your business. It’s not necessary for you to hurl personal insults. I think The Beatles released crappy music, I do not like their music, I am not a fan. Deal with it.

Name a dozen songs you like from 1967 to 1985, and I bet for at least half of them I can name the Beatles track but for which it wouldn't exist. Even The Kinks, who got started before the Beatles, admitted that 1970's Lola vs Powerman was heavily influenced by their fellow Scousers. Apeman was Penny Lane with a new paint job, according to Ray Davies.
They're not my favourite band, far from it, but the influence they exerted on the musical art form as a whole is undeniable. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at December 31, 2022 2:08 AM MST

My answer addresses the posted question at face value, and I reiterate it in response to your points about The Beatles and their music. There is nothing you can say that will change what I think of the subject, I don’t know if your insistence is an attempt to convince me that I like something that I do not like, or to convince me that I should like something that I do not like. In no way am I trying to convince you to dislike The Beatles for any reason, I am simply stating my opinion of them and their music. No amount of bolstering will change a decades-long perspective. You are not harmed nor hindered if I do not appreciate or worship or fawn over The Beatles. To continue presenting your defense of them is akin to beating a dead horse.

"Why Don't We Do It In The Road" is hilarious! How could anybody not like that?

That really is bad. It doesn't even sound like the Beatles.

I was going to say Helen Wheels but I see this is from Paul McCartney's post Beatles group Wings.  Anyway, "Helen Wheels"?  More like "Hell On The Ears"!

I thought "Helen Wheels" was one of the best Wings songs and no "driving rock" compilation would be complete without it.

Probably did which: heard it in 1972 on Guam, or liked it?  What about those who weren’t born yet, or who have never been to Guam, or who don’t like it?

Not a Beatles song. It's a Beatle's song, but the other three weren't involved.

I disagree with him. Imagine and Helen Wheels are NOT Beatles songs, any more than My Sweet Lord or Photograph are. They're Beatle's songs, there's no apostrophe in the question.
