Discussion»Questions»Politics» How would you feel about Trump if you found out he hadn't paid any federal income taxes in YEARS? Would that change your opinion about him?
The income tax is a direct tax, which is forbidden by the constitution. Anybody who is well educated knows that and only volunteers to pay if it happens to be good theater, such as a politician. It says right in the instructions that it's voluntary, or it used to. I haven't read the instructions in over thirty years.
The Sixteenth Amendment (Amendment XVI) to the United States Constitution allows the Congress to levy an income tax without apportioning it among the states or basing it on the United States Census.
