Possibly the funniest show I've seen might not have lasted, "All in the Family." I know it was pretty controversial.

And "All in the Family" spin-off "The Jefferson's".   Both great shows.

No.  Let the viewers decide by ratings.

There would be nothing on TV ever.

Only if you want to have no TV shows whatsoever.  Everything is offensive to someone.

As a chemistry teacher, the show 'Breaking Bad' was offensive to me. I never watched.

A show that offends no one is probably not very entertaining.

    No.
The best thing is to use time brackets to minimise the chances of minors viewing damaging stuff,
and to mark the start of each show with a clear list of warnings for specific types of content.
That way, adults can make their own choices.

Some things do need to be censored.
I'm against explicit scenes of child-pornography, rape, racism, violence, torture, drug abuse and crime.
These themes do need to be dealt with as a means of discussing the realities of the world, how and why they occur, and to explore the solutions - but they do not need to be shown in ways they would excite or incite sociopaths.
