A huge example for me --
Patti Smith
Patti Smith is not the same as Patty Smyth.
Patti Smith (born December 30, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, poet and visual artist, who became a highly influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album Horses. Called the “Godmother of Punk”, her work was a fusion of rock and poetry. Smith’s most widely known song is “Because the Night”, which was co-written with Bruce Springsteen and reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978
Patty Smyth (born June 26, 1957) is an American rock and roll musician. She first enjoyed mainstream success in 1982 as lead singer of the band Scandal – whose 1984 release “The Warrior,” off their album of the same name, was a top ten smash hit – and later scored a solo #2 hit with her song “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough”.
