The only power any authority has over people is the willingness of the people to listen to it.

The popular belief is that authorities hold power.   It's a fantastic lie that keeps them in their positions over us.  Truth is the power is with the subjects.  The subjects are the ones who shackle themselves into following any authority or authority figure. Their power over the population is from the populations own choice.

Tyranny doesn't come at the end of a bayonet or the stroke of a pen.  It comes from the willingness of the oppressed.

    Exactly.

Authority can only exist where the willingly subservient recognize and request permission from it.
When people stop asking for permission to exist and stop attempting to exert force over their fellowman
    authority will be obsolete.

Independence is a frightening concept for many though, while it is nice to exist without an authority
lording over you, there will be no one to swoop in and "save the day" should you fail. But the truth is,
no one will do that now, power is rarely there when the powerless actually need it. Best to own those
    circumstances ourselves. imho

Alex Grey is one of my favorite artists.

To your point though... There was a fella who spoke to congress in 2012 I think, he was speaking on behalf of the Open Currency Institute and he made basically the same statement to them, in the future they needn't worry about armed insurrection, but rather a society that simply ignores their existence. He told them to keep doing what they've been doing... Absolutely nothing.

Man, I admire the heck out of that guy. He nailed them to their faces!

  • The greatest scam government and corporate tyrants ever pulled on the masses is having them believe they actually control them.

Well that and that their "forefathers" consented to it on their behalf.

That is sorta true, but you need to expand your education so you can explain it in a way that makes sense. As a judge once explained authority: "You see that man there? He has a gun, and if I so order, he will discharge it into your body. That is the authority I have over you."

What you are trying to say is that your neighbors demand that sort of authority, and if the man with the gun goes berserk, they only demand more men with guns. This post was edited by Not Sure at October 3, 2016 8:48 PM MDT

  • You have no clue what my level of education is.  I know what I'm trying to say, and I said it.  I appreciate your thoughts to the subject, but please don't try and come and translate on my behalf. That's not my point at all.
