    Plural object goes with "number": number of people, number of cars, number of trees. Singular object goes with "amount": amount of hay, amount of rain, amount of sugar.

    In the ground: 1 Fig; 3 Cherry; 2 Giant Sequoia; 2 incense cedar; 1 black oak; 3 Japanese Maple; and 1 Douglas fir.

    In pots - 13 Japanese Maples; 1 incense cedar; 2 silk; and 1 Russian olive.
