Lowest common denominator “humor”, such as that which is known as toilet humor, all about bodily functions. It appeals to four-year-olds, appropriately, but anyone over that age should be over it. Also, the kind of so-called “humor” that is in no way original yet people try to pass it off as if they just thought of it themselves and that it’s the funniest thing in the world.
Toilet humour does appeal particularly to prepubescent boys. Teacher and kids' author Andy Griffiths realised that a sweeping majority of his students who were being turned on to reading by Joanne Rowling's magical genius were girls (he taught fourth grade), so he wrote a trilogy of books pitched at boys the age of his students. Loaded with butt jokes. Got them reading (and sniggering).
There are very few comedians I find actually humor me. Peter Sellers was one, George Carlin, Robin Williams and my latest discovery, Sebastian Maniscalco.
