How often do you walk home? (Distances longer than just from your driveway to the front door, that is.)

    So I can’t count putting the trash cans out by the road, eh?

    I prefer not to walk home as it’s a long ways from anywhere to here (miles), but on occasions I do (good way to kill a few hours and get lots of steps on the ol’ Fitbit).

    That's a bad pic.  Moving a garbage can like that one with the lid open is very dangerous.   I did that once and almost ended up inside the can head first.

      I thought it had already been emptied and your on your way back to the house with it, but I guess you could still fall into it that way also, right?

    Empty or full, it doesn't matter.  If tilted back too far the lid can get be caught up on the ground.  The can instantly stops moving but the one pushing it doesn't.  By the time the one pushing teh can runs into the can (less than a second), the can uprights itself (gravity) and in you go... head first!  The 65 and 95 gallon cans are the worst as they have bigger lids and are heavier.   {If a person has good eyesight, they might be able to make out the small warning about this hazard that's stamped on the inside of the lid.}

    About once a week I walk over to the supermarket that is just down the street on the other side.  Very easy.  The problem is the heat.......just that distance takes it out of me.  I only go over there when I just need a couple of things.

    To and from the local village, two kilometres each way, about once a week. The hill is steep.
    Have occasionally walked 20 k's in exceptional circumstances. Surprised that I felt no ill effects the next day. This post was edited by inky at July 9, 2020 7:34 AM MDT

    Before WFH, to and from the local railway station, and to and from the city station to work, five times a week, as well as running with the dog.

    Since I don't drive. I almost always walk home. Except for the times here and there I ride with someone or on the bus, to an appointment. This post was edited by Nightwolf5 at August 2, 2020 1:53 PM MDT
