Can you drive stick? If so, do you prefer it to automatic transmission?

I prefer manual trans, but it seems we're becoming dinosaurs.

I can drive both, I think that I’ve only owned two cars with manual transmissions out of all the cars I’ve ever owned, and the last one was over twenty years ago. The one thing that wasn’t better about manual occurred when I took a long road trip from North Carolina to California. Wait, there’s one more thing I found difficult about it: eating while driving.

    And texting, of course.

I haven’t driven a manual during the time that texting has exploded, but I don’t text and drive anyway.

Yes I can. I traded my last one for an automatic when I had wrist surgery and could no longer shift.

Have burned out too many clutches
on the hills of my city.
    My truck now is automatic
and is perfect for all of those hills.

I can drive both.  Our everyday vehicle is a VW Passat Estate (wagon) with an Automatic, our fun car is a '72 Alpha Romeo Spyder

I never learned to drive manual. :/ I still want to learn at some point but there have been few opportunities.

  • I can. My dad taught me how. I do not have a car with a manual transmission so I don't have much practice with it and I can't say I prefer it. But the few times I have driven my dad's car with the manual transmission, I've enjoyed it. :)
