I think all of this is much ado about nothing. There's a precedent for this kind of thing, and yes, there are men and women who 'gravitate' to and will do anything for people in lofty positions. Power, after all, is purported to be one of the most potent aphrodisiacs.
Shocker this ain't. No matter how much I may be repulsed by Captain Combover, he really hasn't said anything which hasn't been said before--although perhaps not in front of his adversaries. If men (and women) are honest they'd have to admit that they've said as much or worse...when they were TWELVE.
To me that's the most important element of Trump's massive faux pas. He never grew up. He is the same, intellectually and emotionally, as he was when he was twelve.
That's not to say Hitlery is better in any qualitative/quantitative way, but still...
