I have no idea what that is and I shall continue to wallow in my ignorance thankyou very much, but I can recongonize Dytiscus marginalis when I see it, if that in any way ameliorates my sad condition. When I hear 'Catalina' I firstly think of the Catalina flying boat/amphibian, otherwise known as the Consolidated PBY. The name 'Catalina' was first applied by the British - the Canadians called it the 'Canso', the Americans the PBY, and later, grudgingly, Catalina. The Catalina has been one of my favourite aircraft since I was a boy. There was once a Catalina Airlines. The service used various seaplanes for their short flights, including a single Vought-Sikorsky VS44. This is another fine looking aircraft. One of the only three of these big, four-engined, flying boats ever built is currently displayed in the New England Air Museum. I am so glad American aero history is being preserved in the name of the Catalina Wine Mixer (PS. Make mine a double).
