I wish I'd known that one when I was in high school. There was one science teacher with a lisp - it was fun making him say "photosynthesis", that one is even better.
Kids are brutal, but he took it in his stride. He wouldn't have been teaching teenagers if he'd been thin-skinned. Doing that with a speech impediment requires the hide of a rhinoceros.
I checked and it's from the French. I think I have a pretty good vocabulary, but this is a word I came across in a book and had to look up. Now I see it more and more.
