Go wash your mouth out with soap. We sound like Kiwis the way you Canucks sound like Yanks, ie hardly at all (although the Vermont accent can be hard to pick). Canadian race car driver Allan Moffatt used to get very upset when Australian fans of rival drivers chanted "Yankee go home" at him. Don't talk rugby to me, it's a sore point - the Wallabies haven't won the Bledisloe Cup in over a decade X-(

I say fort-ay as in written music and generally only use the word in that context. I might have said at some point that something was not my forte but it isn't a common Thrifty word.
The word can be pronounced fort when referencing a part of a sword.
