Discussion»Questions»Politics» I'm NOT religious, so accusing someone of being the DEVIL is just another slur. But, it's more than that to a religious person, isn't it?
It's not just another slur. It means that someone is evil, not just that they do evil.
Most of the evil that people do is because they "know not what they do". The devil is pure evil because he acts in the full knowledge of what he does. He is the source of evil. I think that people who aren't religious can still use such words as a figure of speech.
I see how he meant that now. I did not understand before and thought it just an insult. I think it is accurate and she does evil while knowing it is evil.
Yes. If you say to me that I am the devil that means to me that I am the worst thing that has ever existed, enemy of mankind, scumbag that only deserves death, evil incarnate. So I would never use that as an insult to someone.
