Not to me it doesn’t. I tasted that stuff as a little kid, hated it, and have never touched it since. Yuck!

Yep, it does but only if you eat too much.

No such thing as too much. That's like too much sex. This post was edited by Element 99 at September 24, 2020 9:16 AM MDT

Yes!! I love it. I miss when I was a kid and they sold the big pieces that looked like a pipe at the corner store. I haven’t had those in a million years.

I never seen those. We had bubble gum cigars and cigarettes.

They’re very good, I see when I went looking for this picture can still buy them online by the case. They used to just have them at corner stores when I was a kid, could bit them by the piece.

They don't sale gum cigarettes/cigars in store now either.

The cigarettes had a powder on them (sugar?) Where you could blow into them and it looked like smoke.   As a parent now, I wonder why did my parents let me buy those things. Lol This post was edited by my2cents at September 24, 2020 7:21 PM MDT

The candy sticks are still around in Halloween candy...but they don't have the red tip.

  • It does.  As do the black jelly beans.  How they are just cast aside with only but a few of us to eat them.

It supposedly matters if you're going for a urine test.  I don't buy either black or red licorice these days, but I do like it and I like the black jelly beans, too. This post was edited by SpunkySenior at September 24, 2020 6:19 PM MDT

Red Vines and Twizzlers come to mind although they may not formally qualify as licorice.

Licorice is a flavour, not a colour.

It does matter to me. I've had those panda ones. The last black licorice package I bought was Scottie Dogs. I never cared for the red kind much.

Yes. Black, red, green, blue, yellow, orange.  Licorice is a weakness of mine.  So many different flavors.

(I know the only real licorice is the black...)

Why bother to say black licorice?

Licorice is considered the type of candy now not the flavor.

Licorice never matters. My better half loves the stuff, I can't stand it.

When I was a kid, whenever my siblings or I had colds or flu, our mother fed us an aniseed-flavoured decongestant cough medicine, so I have this subconscious association between the taste of licorice and feeling sick.
