Every go mushroom picking?

I have an  never picked a bad one.  I only pick very recognizable mushrooms  that I know are edible  such as  the black moral, blue funnel  and the inky cap   and a few others I can't think of the name of them.   You must be well educated in what is edible mushrooms  and what isn't  before  picking edible mushrooms.   I suggest learning one type at a time  get familiar with it then learn another.    I know 13  edible mushrooms.   I could've learned more.   Don't rely on just a picture of the mushroom  as there are many look alikes

I have never had the pleasure.  I do love the way they look sprouting out of the ground, but I never am in an area where I see many of them.

I am stuck buying them in the store, but I at least know I am not going to pick a poisonous one!!

  • Morel hunting is common in the area, but haven't enlisted anyone as a guide, and don't think I trust myself enough to pick the right thing. My understanding is they are supposed to be yummy.

I have morels popping up during the spring time. Unfortunately, I don't have much luck frying them up. They just shrink.

Yes, Our family did it a lot when vacationing at my grandparents farm. There was a forest nearby with quite a lot of good Canterelle spots. Afterwards we went home and cleaned them together, it was very much a family thing.
