    Teaching.
The bright spots were when a kid who'd been having difficulties succeeded and developed confidence,
and when the talented kids exceeded their own expectations.
Also, there were many moments when the interactions in the classroom were great fun for everyone.

What’s the negative stereotype associated with the teaching profession?

I worked for the city sewer department.

    Bright spots :

some of the best, funny conversation stories!
some of the best fellow employees with whom I've ever worked (yes, all were male -- no wonder I had a blast; seriously, all the guys were great)
once, when I was down at the bottom of a "manhole," there was a "lateral line"  (a private line from someone's house) emptying at the top of the manhole, about 15 feet above my head; someone flushed their toilet and I got flushed on -- the  "stuff" came out of the pipe and dropped down full force on the top of my head and shoulders, full with "Number Two" - - such a funny experience!
