I think there should an age limit on all political offices. I would say 70.

When they reach 70 they can no longer run for any office. If they turn 70 during their present term, they can finish it.

That would require a Constitutional amendment for POTUS.

    I would prefer term limits.
2 Terms for Senate up to 15 yrs.
6 Terms for House up to 13 yrs.

And 20 yrs total limit in Congress (total both Sen and House) but not applied to POTUS or VP.

Leave President at  2 terms up to 10 yrs.

Some of us who are older than 70 are still capable of doing our jobs.  At 75, I am not drooling and continue to work as a legal secretary.

Wait, you don’t drool?  What’s your secret?

That may be a violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. And I think it is insulting to everyone over the age of 70. as well as to those who vote for them. In some cultures, age and wisdom is not just appreciated but venerated.

I mostly sorta, kinda agree... I wouldn't prevent older people from standing for election but overall, and for the good of the country, I do think that it's a job for younger men and women, those with more vitality and the ability to be very on the ball, mentally sharp This post was edited by Adaydreambeliever at November 13, 2020 2:48 PM MST
