What's the very first time you remember feeling disappointed?

For me , it was watching a documentary on Godzilla. That's when I learned that it was just some guy in a suit, trampling all over a tiny city.

As a kid my stepmom accused me of stealing her jewelry to go play in the sandbox.
I was very young at such a young age i played with trucks and toys in my sandbox.
Believe me Jewelry wasn't on my list. Anyway she told my stepdad who gave me five lashes with a razor strap
on the palm of each hand.
...Yeah i felt some real disappointment

  • Yes, I can feel the confusion and disappointment.
    You must have felt powerless.
Thank you for sharing such an experience, Baba.
    Nice answer.

I was never smacked with a razor strop, my dad didn't have one. Fortunately I wasn't falsely accused as a child either, although I did forbid false accusation when I was a child. That was because I'd heard about it happening to someone else, and being a Pisces I instinctively wanted to protect everyone else from it.

  • I've noticed you have mentioned being a Pisces twice, is that something you  put a lot of weight into. Do you feel it accurately portrays how you are?  Just curious.

I first discovered Zodiac signs at the age of 19, and as soon as I started reading about it I recognised myself as a true Pisces almost immediately. It described the way I had always been since my early childhood right down to the last detail. To make sure it wasn't a fluke I read about the signs of my friends and they fitted their signs accurately as well. Since then I have seen nothing but more and more evidence that tells me it is true. I have never had any reason to not believe in it. I did hear one or two people mention the topic when I was about 15 and I didn't know what to make of it then. I discovered it at 19 from a friend who lent me a book on the subject, and it just gew from there.

  • There was a time when I read all I could on it. I think that like many we have no a days, it's another theory on personality types. Although I find no scientific validity in it, many times the similarities and descriptions I read on Gemini, are truly uncanny.
Thank you Andy, you don't hear too many people admitting an Astrological inclination publicly, like you do.  Good for you!

Those of us who do believe in it are not afraid to announce it publicly. Why should we be? :)

Probably when the railway lines to Hornsea and Withernsea were closed (in the 1960s).

  • I just looked into that. Interesting history. Yorkshire, right. Feels like all places over there are some kind of shire. )

Why what, Lago? Why did they close those railways, or why was I disappointed that they did?

My answers: Why did they close the railways? Because they are callous a**holes who don't care about anything other than their own worthless, absurdly over-inflated egos. Why was I disappointed? Because I wanted the railways to remain, that's why. I also don't think it was fair that I wasn't given a chance to object to the closure just because I was a child then (I was born in 1962).

The word "shire" means "county", hence Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire, etc.

  • I see Andy,
(I was trying to be funny with the shire comment)
It's a running joke I carry with Lucia.
Did you just like trains when you were little?

I grew up with trains, Lago, my dad (now sadly deceased) worked on the railway for more than 40 years. That's why they are an important part of my childhood memories, and being a Pisces I don't take kindly to any part of my childhood memories being destroyed.

  • Oh I see, wow, forty years!
You must have a whole encyclopedia of memories attached to trains and stations and your dad. I understand now. It's a neat story. (Sorry about your dad).
    Thanks for sharing.

It was when I first discovered that good grammar is not important to EVERYONE.

(By the way, you have an extra, incorrect and unnecessary space before the comma in your penultimate sentence.  I couldn't resist.)

The baby's expression depicts how I looked and how old I was when the disappointment took place.
