When Trump mentioned to finance his own campaign , he was talking about the PRIMARY ; which has come and gone and he DID finance the majority of it .... and Trump won ....
We are now in the main election and like MOST ; he's asking for donations ....
Because when he got the nomination, the establishment withheld their support until he agreed to start taking donations. By taking donations it also supports the RNC and down ballot candidates.
