Had just returned from India and was hitch hiking across the states to San Francisco. Some where in the middle of the US the ride we had was turning off of the road to a new direction and dropped us off. ... Unfortunately the place was a swamp for mosquitos. They began attacking us immediately. Must have had a hundred bites before we realized what was happening. There was a farm house near the road and we ran for shelter, with the mosquitos chasing after us. We knocked on the door begging for shelter. A nice lady opened the door and let us in. She explained it was mosquito season and we explained we were going to SF. Through the graciousness of her heart she gave us a lift to a few miles down the road where there were no mosquitos. Bless her heart, she literally saved our lives.
