Could Michael Stipe have portrayed 'Pennywise,' the clown from Stephen King's "IT"? :)

On first glance, I did not realize Stipe is simply looking down. I thought those were the whites of his eyes. Creeped me out a bit. :)

It's now, actually, an appealing image to me.

** And, to Slartibartfast -- in case you see my question here -- I'm with you ALL the way on that one portion of King's "IT" novel -- that one sequence in that book ruined the entire novel for me. It goes far beyond trying to be scary. Terribly, terribly sick to me. And I've never gotten over it. **

I doubt he would have been a good candidate for the role.

This time I came across my own question.
No surprise - - I again forgot to acknowledge your answer.

You're right - - Stipe would not be a good candidate for that role. Not that I'm not a huge Stipe R.E.M. fan but Pennywise is simply not for him.

Funny to me --  my question here from four-and-a-half years ago can be an answer to your question you posted yesterday about double takes. Ha.
Maybe I will answer your question.
