    My two brothers and I shared a bedroom, and my three sisters shared another. Both of my brothers were younger.

    Did you find your younger brothers pesky?

    Of course...that was their job.

    I shared a room with my brother and sister until my brother became so large that his butt was touching sister's nose when she slept (he had the top bunk bed). At that point, sis got her own room and they built an addition to the house for us boys.  I shared a room with my brother until I finally had enough paper route money ($200) to have the chicken coop out back made into room for my brother (yes, it was a real chicken coop).
    {And that's also one of the reasons how I became an uncle at 14.}

    Nope! I'm an only child and had everything to myself which wasn't all that great.

    Yep. You get all your parents' attention focused on you, and it's not always positive.
    My Mum was an only child. She grew up very lonely but also, due to lack of opportunities for social interaction, painfully shy.

    My three younger sisters and I shared a bedroom.  We had two sets of bunk beds and the two youngest ones slept on the top beds.

      Was the upper bunk sleeping arrangement their preference, or was it thrust upon them by the two Bigs?

      When I was in the Marines, I always preferred the top rack* instead of the bottom one, and for good reason: Throughout the day in the barracks, anyone and everyone always sat on the bottom rack, even if it wasn’t his own. Hardly anyone, however, ever fixed the rack after sitting in it and wrecking the linen. If you take the bottom rack, you may have quicker and easier access to the deck (floor), but all day long you’re either fixing your rack because of all the inconsiderate s**tbirds in the squad bay, or the corporal, the sergeant comes through, sees your rack on a mess, and the next thing you know, you’re on his list.

    *In military jargon, only the Army refers to them as “bunks”.  In the parlance of sea services (Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps), they’re called “racks”.

    I was almost 16 when my youngest sister was born.  At that age, I wasn't climbing up to the top bunk.

      Lol. When I was 16, I would have loved to have climbed up there every night, especially to lord over younger sibs!

    :)

      I believe the top two pictures show World War II-era ships, or possibly Korean War-era.
