probably cause everyone likes to think theyre smarter
My best friend had an IQ of 143. That is pretty high. She was ashamed of it. When we were in grade school, she thought being smart was for the ugly and boring so she hid it.
I think she hid it because the normal people tried to make her feel stupid for being smart. But she had kind of an attitude if you didn't know her that was off putting, I guess. She didn't mingle much but she had a load of boyfriend admirers. She was cute like Reese Witherspoon cute. But she always acted like being called smart was an insult or something. I never could really wrap my head around it.
I don't understand that either. Except the bit about her being cute like Reese Witherspoon cute and having a load of boyfriend admirers. That bit makes total sense, but the rest of it doesn't make sense at all. How could anyone be ashamed of having an above average IQ? The idea that "being smart was for the ugly and boring so she hid it" is (if you'll pardon my language) a load of bullsh*t.
