My maternal grandmum was from Halifax. No Irish, though.

Wondering if she was in Halifax duriing the Halifax explosion in 1917. It was the most powerfull man made explosion ever including the 2  atomic bombs droped  on Japan. I would have to check. She moved to Portland, ME to marry my grandfather around that time.
