Nixon.  At least he was smart enough to resign and not put the country through what Trump is putting it through now.

He also had a number of significant accomplishments, such as creating the EPA, ending the draft, and lowering the voting age to 18.

Nixon. Served two terms as veep to Eisenhower, and won a second term in his own right. Had he had an acquiescent Senate, he may have gotten away with committing as many crimes as Trump did, instead of getting nailed for just one. A big one, but just one.

Trump, when all is said and done and the historians can look at the documents, it will be shown that Trump was falsely accused of the things for which he was impeached.  The same cannot be said of the things for which Nixon was on his way to being impeached.

Nixon. At least he could write a book. A task Trump is most likely incapable of.

    The Real War

richard nixonPublished in 1980, Nixon's The Real War was an immediate best-seller and cemented his place as a successful political author. The book presents a historical view of the place of communism in the world and argues that any successful political strategy should focus on what he saw as the true threat to American Democracy

As the link I posted in response points out, Trump has actually written many books.

Oh okay. If only he had his heart in the right place.

If only his heart were in the right place?  Who is it that has really shown concern for the American people?  Trump wanted clean bills to provide aid to us to help us get through this pandemic.  What did the Democrats do?  They larded up the bill with all sorts of pork for things that nothing to do with the pandemic.

During the riots last summer, Trump kept offering help to put them down and stop the destruction of our cities.  How did the Democrats respond to the riots?  They took the side of the rioters.  They accused Trump of attacking "peaceful protesters".  They called federal troops who did try to stop the rioters stormtroopers.  Kamala Harris herself, many of Biden's campaign staff, and many of the left-wing celebrities raised money to pay for the legal fees of the rioters and other criminals, but did not raise a single penny those who's businesses were destroyed or the families of those killed by the rioters.

The list goes on and on.

So, tell me again whose heart is in the right place.  It certainly isn't the Democrats who used the crisis of the past year for personal political gain rather than doing what is right for the American people.

That may be true, but he ruined his image and any possible political future with his premeditated plan to declare victory and claim that the election was stolen despite voting results and evidence to the contrary. Had he been a mensch and conceded in the first place, the outcome of him leaving would have been the same, but the violence at the Capitol would likely have been avoided and he could have left with his head held high like presidents before him, and the Republican party would be better off, and the GOP might have kept control of the Senate.

Sorry, but the evidence is in his favor on how the election was stolen from him.  Just because the courts and the media refused to actually look at that evidence does not mean it does not exist.

As for the violence on Capital Hill, I am still waiting for one of you to show me where Trump actually told people to go there and commit violence.  I am also waiting for you to show me the same level of concern for all of the lies and calls for violence that came from Democrats over the past several years.  Democrats have been justifying violence against Trump and his supporters since before he was elected, but for some reason you don't have any problem with that, but you will go out of your way to twist whatever Trump does to accuse him of wrong doing.

What he is guilty of beyond the shadow of a doubt is an overblown ego and a sense of entitlement to the presidency and the election. He claimed the election was stolen on election night, before he or anyone else could possibly have known of any evidence. The very term "stolen election" implies that the election and the presidency intrinsically belonged to him in the first place. This post was edited by Stu Spelling Bee at January 17, 2021 7:09 PM MST

An overblown ego is not a criminal offense and, yes, the election was stolen.

Democrats changed election laws in ways to benefit them.  These changes were mostly made by the courts, members of the state executive branches, and unelected bureaucrats.  Thus, these changes were in clear violation of Article II, Section I, Clause II of the US Constitution which give sole descression over how electors are chosen to the state legislature.  So, those votes cast under these new rules were unconstitutional.

In Pennsylvania, mail in voters from heavily Democratic districts who made mistakes on their ballots were allowed to cure those mistakes mistakes in clear violation of Pennsylvania election law.  However, the same opportunity was not afforded to mailin voters from heavily Republican parts of the state.  So, not only was that a violation of Pennsylvania state law, but it was a violation of the Constitution's equal protection clause because the rule were not applied equally.

In many of these states, election watchers were not allowed to actually observe what was going on.  The purpose of poll watchers is to insure that the votes are being correctly cast and then counted.  However, in many of these states the poll watchers were kept so far away from the counting activities that they could not tell just what the election officials were doing.  In a number of states the poll watchers were told that the counting was going to be stopped for the night and sent home.  Then counting continued without any watchers present.  In at least one case vote counters were caught pulling ballots that had been smuggled into the counting room out and counting them after the poll watchers were sent home.  If everything was so above board, then why did these officials go to so much trouble to keep the poll watchers from being able to see what they were doing?

There are thousands of sworn affidavits from various polling officials and watchers attesting these types of irregularities and more.  These affidavits were given under the potential penalty of perjury if the witnesses gave false testimony.  These witness gave their names into the public record.  Back when the house was impeaching trump, were were told that whistleblowers were to be respected.  The press was even so protective of the whistleblower who accused Trump that they refused to give his name.  Yet, now we have thousands of whistleblowers who are willing to go on the record about all of the fraud that they witness in this election and these same people refuse to even give them a hearing.

Yes, the election WAS STOLEN!!!  However, the powers that be in the press and the swamp have conspired to cover up the evidence of this through a program of silence.  Just as many historians not acknowledge that the Democrats stole the 1960 election, future historians will eventually acknowledge that the same thing happened in 2020.
