The news is lying again. They keep saying Arizona has the highest death rate from covid per capita for all of the states.

I researched three different sources and AZ is tenth. NJ's is almost double. More fake news?

That's what I found. What is the motivation for that?

    I don't know.
Perhaps because they are a (normally) red state, the media can point to instead of NY and CA.
I just seen Spunky's answer.  AZ is first when limiting to the last 7 days...not overall.
So depends on how the news worded their report.

I’ve heard on one radio program that my state, California, is the worst, but I don’t know if it’s the infection rate or the death rate.

You aren't even reading the headline!

I am NOT talking about your headline.  I am talking about whatever news Element99 was listening...if it said last 7 days or just leads in deaths.
ONLY Element knows what his news was reporting.  (The topic of the question)

I did not question your source.  Or dispute it.  This post was edited by my2cents at January 24, 2021 10:16 AM MST

Why are you asking me what the news said?  I quoted the CDC.  How do I know what news source E99 is referencing?

    It was not a question.
It was talking about the topic.

I was not trying to argue.

    No, it is a statement.

The answer to Element99's question depends on how the news media (that Element99 was watching) worded their reporting.

Did News Station XYZ say "AZ leads the nation in per capita deaths." (This is fake news...or incorrect news)  Or "AZ leads the nation in deaths per capita in the last 7 days."...(This would be a fact)

Then how about directing your remarks to the person made the comment instead of asking someone who had nothing to do with the post.

It was not a remark. It was supposed to be conversation.

Odd, I found different numbers at another source for the past 7 days. Most of the top seven were in New England. Who can we trust?

My source was the CSC.  Which was your source?

The link I originally posted was the question, not my source  Here is the correct link:

I just did some research and the chart I found was updated today. It showed that California was number one in deaths and Arizona was number nine.

    https://covidusa.net/

One thing I noticed is just how out of sync and skewed the numbers are. No one can agree on just how many have actually died of covid-19 that didn't have other underlying health issues.
