    I hope you are not terminally ill any more than the rest of us, that is.  We are all terminal but I hope you don't have a time stamp on your demise just yet.  Hope not.  Pray not.

    Carp are large bottom feeding fish. Some people like to eat them, if properly prepared or smoked. As a kid, I would wade in the river and sometimes spot a carp. My father, a hobby fisherman, always threw them back. Instead, he would keep the bullhead catfish. They tasted like crap, they were also bottom feeders, and in those days, the city upstream provided plenty of 'barely treated' sewer water for the fish to enjoy.

    I used to catch very large ones spawning in the Maumee River near Grand Rapids. My mother brought a smoked one home when I was young. It was quite good. I would NEVER eat a bottom feeder from the Maumee. I would eat the Walleye if I ever catch one, but my wading days are over.
