Discussion»Questions»Education» Is there a fine line between education and indoctrination, or is formal public education often creeping into the latter?
It's a fact that the American public school system was designed to indoctrinate future generations. (IIRC) The system was designed by an Austrian, to discourage students from questioning authorities. That's part of why it is so focused on rote learning, and (had been) grouping students by age/gender/color. (as opposed to the previous system of advancing students based on merit)
