    * I no longer salute other idiotic motorists with my "driving finger".

    * I obey speed limits.

    * I drive slow and carefully in parking lots and downtown.

    Oh good lord!  I've become that "old man behind the wheel" that I used to hate to drive behind!

    I wear my seat belt.  We didn't have seat belts when I began driving.

    Be more careful driving on gravel roads. A couple times I lost control skidding in loose gravel. No serious damage fortunately.
    Check condition of tires regularly, especially front tires because I did have a blowout a couple of times. Nothing bad happened but was a scarey experience.

    Back home on the farm there were all gravel roads.

    This time of year our city streets look like gravel roads and canyons.

    When I lived in Winnipeg there were a lot of problems with potholes and other damage to city streets during spring thaw. Not so much at all in Vancouver.

    You don't get the extremes of winter there. We will get a major freeze, then a rapid thaw.

    I rarely drive at night.
    I am more aware of my surroundings.
    I drive with few distractions. I don't even like talking while driving.
    I don't drag race or burnout my tires. (Yes...I had a muscle car.)
    What I have always done while driving is realize that every driver within 1/4 mile is out to get me. This post was edited by Element 99 at March 25, 2021 12:01 PM MDT

  • I can't think of anything. Even as a teen, I was not a hotshot speeding everywhere like some of my friends. And I've still never gotten a ticket.
