Some careers take so much of your attention that it's hard to develop other interests. Then, when your career comes to an end, you're at odds with yourself about how to keep occupied.
That's like putting all your eggs in one basket and after retirement you trip and they're all smashed. Even when I worked on Saturdays sometimes or brought work home I always loved escaping to my kitchen and cooking. Used to go out to see movies when they made movies that were my cuppa tea Today? Not so much. It did take me a few months to stop feeling guilty if I was "doing something" for at least ten hours a day. Then I learned to relax enjoy be lazy. I have mastered that! Thank you for your reply. Just thought of a question.
It is definitely an experience transitioning from a full-time job to retirement. In a way, I'm happy that I now work part-time. I'm used to earning less money and having more free time to do what I want or to do nothing at all. :)
