If you had been living in a house and now have to move into an apartment what conditions would you like to have along with that apartment?

Easy access to an outdoor area for the dogs; preferably a fenced dog park within the complex. Walkable neighborhood. I don't think I'd ever consider a high-rise or something that didn't have outdoor access for my dogs unless I was in a dire situation and there were no other options.

I will never move into an apartment if there is any way out of it.

That happened to me when my first wife kicked me out. I didn't need much, just the basics of furnishings and kitchenware. A closet for my clothing. Peace and quiet.

A back yard. You can't keep a Staffy in an apartment.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Longer in the leg than a standard bull terrier. This post was edited by Slartibartfast at June 22, 2021 6:39 PM MDT

I've only lived in an apartment for a couple years on two occasions.  I loved it both times.  However, if and when I decide to give up home ownership in favor of renting an apartment, I will only consider apartments where I am on the top floor and that must be floor #2.  So, I've reduced my search to two-story buildings. Other preferences are that the building is owner managed, is in a area that  is low crime and doesn't attract families with small children as well as families with pets. Ground floor with no one above me.  Yard with no restrictions, somewhere I can grill.   Pool, movie room, gym with people who do all the maintenance.
