How much was the hospital bill associated with your birth?

I was born in 1950 in a hospital in a metropolitan area of California.  The hospital bill was 101 dollars.

I don't know. It's something I never asked my mom. I just did a bit of research and costs appear to be around $100 around that time. (1951) This post was edited by Element 99 at June 3, 2021 8:53 AM MDT

  • I did asked my parents about the costs associated with my birth in the hospital.  My parents gave me the actual hospital bill when I was in my 20's, which I've kept to this day.

I believe it may have been a welfare or public assistance type of thing: my mother was penniless, alone, and the mother of two when I was born.

Bill?   Wasn't the fact that I was here payment enough?  I mean they asked me for my autograph and everything (both finger and footprints).

I'm in Australia. Our taxes cover that.
